EVA is a flexible, rubber-like copolymer with excellent softness, low-temperature toughness, and good clarity. Its properties vary widely with vinyl acetate content. Low-VA EVA is used for film and cable insulation, while high-VA EVA provides strong adhesion for hot-melt adhesives and foam applications. Major uses include shoe midsoles, yoga mats, solar cell encapsulant films, and packaging foams. Modification significantly expands EVA’s utility: crosslinked EVA foam offers higher resilience for sports equipment.
